All of that seems fair. He's a stranger and it's clear she's protective. It wouldn't be the first time he's been treated suspiciously. "I'm not about to ask you to be a stay at home mother, so I've got an advantage."

It was a toss up whether Midge would be excited or uneasy about his going along. He's not sure which he would have preferred. It's a little intimidating knowing a performer.
