It's not that he thinks he's entirely unattractive, or completely devoid of charm, but... just look at her, listen to her. She probably knows how to eat with more than one set of cutlery at the table. Not to mention how young and pretty she is. Men are most definitely clamouring to get a date with her. Richer, younger, more handsome men.
That doesn't mean he's scared off having fun with her. He leans in, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Are you getting ready to defend my honour against the men we met earlier?"
